Upcoming Workshops
This virtual workshop will take place on Friday, May 22 at 10am US Central Time. The session will run at least three hours (total duration depends on breaks, discussion, Q&A, overall chattiness of the group, etc.) and cover the following topics:
Anti-Fat Bias in Society and Pilates
Positioning, Pilates Apparatus, and Props for Larger Bodies
The Hill I Will Die On: Spring Settings
Communication and Cueing for Larger Bodies
Size-Inclusive Marketing
The workshop is primarily lecture based and assumes familiarity with common Pilates exercises, apparatus, and props. Access to equipment is not necessary to participate.
In addition to covering practical considerations for working with clients in larger bodies, this workshop will address the marginalization of fat people. It will ask students to examine their own biases and provide Pilates industry-specific allyship opportunities. Please consider whether you can approach these topics with an open mind before registering for class. Growth is not always comfortable.
Participants will have the option to be included in a directory/map of Pilates instructors who have completed the workshop. This open-access directory/map is maintained on the FBP website to aid potential clients in finding instructors who are invested in accessibility for and inclusivity of larger bodies in Pilates.
The session will be recorded for folks who are unable to make it at the scheduled time. To be included on the map of instructors who have completed the workshop, I will ask that you provide a brief “takeaways” statement to indicate that you have watched and thought critically about the content.
Registration will close at 12pm US CT on Sunday, May 17th. An email will follow shortly thereafter with materials and the Zoom link for the workshop.
Fat Body Pilates reserves the right to cancel sessions with fewer than five participants. Individuals impacted by cancellations will have the option to access the materials and recording of the most recent workshop, attend a future session, or receive a refund.

I would highly recommend this workshop to any Pilates teacher looking to expand their anti-fat-bias learning and improve their ability to create safe, accessible, and inclusive environments for larger-bodied clients. The information presented was immediately actionable and helpful, and Lindsey’s warmth and expertise made for a truly enriching experience.

Talking about size inclusivity is hard, and Lindsey does it with grace and respect. The information shared was extremely valuable for understanding how to work with larger bodies—from equipment and cueing to recognizing bias. As a Pilates educator, I’ll be recommending this workshop to all my students. Every Pilates teacher should know this stuff!
Ginny Massie, NCPT and Balanced Body Educator
Workshop Scholarship Fund
I have created a scholarship fund to support Pilates instructors committed to size inclusivity for whom the workshop may not be financially accessible at this time. Priority for full/partial scholarships will be given to those with identities that have historically been marginalized in Pilates/fitness spaces. To apply for a scholarship, please complete the form in the Contact Me section using the “Scholarship” subject with any relevant information. To contribute, click the button below.
