Private Size Inclusive Pilates Workshop | People's Pilates | June 22, 2025

$1,120.00

This private virtual workshop for eight will take place on Sunday, June 22 at 1PM US Pacific Time/3PM US Central Time. The session will run two hours cover the following topics:

  • Importance of Size Inclusivity in Pilates

  • Positioning, Pilates Apparatus, and Props for Larger Bodies (Focus: Mat and Reformer)

  • Springs for Larger Bodies

  • Communication and Cueing for Larger Bodies

The workshop is primarily lecture based and assumes familiarity with common Pilates exercises, apparatus, and props. Access to equipment is not necessary to participate.

In addition to covering practical considerations for working with clients in larger bodies, this workshop will address the marginalization of fat people. It will ask students to examine their own biases and provide Pilates industry-specific allyship opportunities. Please be prepared to approach these topics with an open mind.

Participants will have the option to be included on an open-access map of Pilates instructors who have completed the workshop. The map will be stored on the FBP website to aid potential clients in finding instructors who are invested in accessibility for and inclusivity of larger bodies in Pilates.

The session will be recorded for folks who are unable to make it at the scheduled time. To be included on the map of instructors who have completed the workshop, I will ask that you provide a brief “takeaways” statement to indicate that you have watched and thought critically about the content.
